How not to get caught on the tricks of fraudsters

The computer incident response service KZ-CERT of the “State Technical Service” of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan warns of a SPLASH OF FRAUDULAR ACTIVITY! In the first quarter of 2019 alone, KZ-CERT Service revealed more than 300 fraudulent and phishing online resources!

Malefactors, by means of mobile instant messengers and e-mail, regularly send out phishing authorization forms or links to Internet resources - questionnaires on which they place forms for collecting payment card data (PAN, expiration date, CVV, Full Name).

In connection with the frequent calls to the KZ-CERT Service of deceived users of phishing web resources, we are recommending users to take the following information security measures:

* Do not activate gaming and entertainment resources, unfamiliar resources.

* Pay attention to the domain name of the resource and authorization forms on Internet resources.

* You should not follow the links and banners with the so-called "sensations". In most cases, these resources and news are being used for “questionnaire sites”, phishing forms and various malware.

Consider any letter where you are asked to follow a web link as suspicious.

One of the recent recent examples is contacting Service KZ-CERT about hacking an account on the social network VKontakte. The attacker on behalf of the victim, whose account was hacked, sent out an invitation to vote on a third-party internet resource comedy-radio.ru, having previously logged in to the phishing form “VKontakte” on the Internet resource c-vote.ru.

Thus, having received a username and password on a phishing form of an Internet resource, the attacker gained access to confidential user data for further fraudulent activity.
